PsiNaptic's Management Team has extensive experience in the operations and growth of technology companies.
Management team
Aaron Dagan, President and Chief Executive Officer - Aaron, a PsiNaptic co-founder, was formerly Vice President, Business Development at Wi-LAN Inc., where he was responsible for strategy including technology licensing to Fortune 500 companies, strategic partnering, spin-off of affiliated companies and key sales accounts with major US operators.
Aaron also held the position of Vice President, Operations at Wi-LAN. Under his leadership the company established an inventory and production program based on a revolving sales forecast, introduced new QC procedures and developed a process of technology transfer from engineering to manufacturing.
Aaron has extensive experience in management, marketing and operations at a senior level in the international arena. Over the past 20 years he has marketed products, technologies and research and development programs to a wide range of industries. Aaron managed start up companies and demonstrated skills in bringing these companies to profitability. He has in-depth knowledge in a range of technologies including wireless data telecommunication, UV analysers, real time computerized management systems, industrial machinery and non-destructive testing systems (laser interferometry).
Morris Bleviss, Chief Financial Officer - Mr. Bleviss was appointed Chief Financial Officer on November 21, 2003. Prior thereto, he was the Controller of PsiNaptic since June 2000. From January 1994 to May 1998, he was the principal shareholder of Mojo's Licence and Registry Services Inc. From September 1990 to February 1993, Mr. Bleviss was the Vice President of Administration of Trizec Corporation Ltd., a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. From September 1980 to August 1990, Mr. Bleviss was an officer of Trizec Properties, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trizec Corporation Ltd. Mr. Bleviss obtained his B. Comm from the University of Alberta in 1964.
Cameron Roe, Vice President and Chief Software Architect - Cameron, a PsiNaptic co-founder, is also a director of Glacier Software Inc., a Calgary-based consulting firm specializing in object-oriented technologies and project management. Cameron was recently contracted as Software Architect on the Dovetail project for TransCanada Pipelines Limited, one of the largest J2EE efforts in Canada.
Prior to this, Cameron worked as project manager, implementing a new laboratory information system for the Calgary area acute care centers and Rapid Response Laboratories. Cameron also has experience as a subsystem leader for Computing Devices Canada (now General Dynamics) as part of the Iris-Government of Canada contract to upgrade the Canadian Armed Forces' communications capability.
Cameron has taught for the Faculty of Continuing Education at the University of Calgary, as well as for Motorola University (Phoenix, Arizona). He has been trained by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University, in the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and is a trained assessor.
Cameron graduated from the University of Calgary in 1982 with a B.Sc., double major in Computer Science and History and is currently completing his thesis for his M.Sc., Software Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Serge Brache, Manager of Engineering- Formerly Vice President Production at Wi-LAN, Serge brings to PsiNaptic a proven track record of managing growth in technology businesses from the early stages onward. He has demonstrated energy, breadth and depth on technology topics, technical innovation and collaborative outreach to others in managing all aspects of engineering.
Specifically, Serge brings the expertise and commitment required to manage the product development process from the prototype stage through the management ramp-up process to the ultimate commercialization of PsiNaptic's products.
Serge graduated from the University of Calgary in 1976 with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. He has extensive technology experience gained over many years in a cross-section of industries including medical, office, industrial and wireless applications.
Directors
Mr. Stephen J. Eyre, Senior Architect, Microsoft Canada Co.
Stephen is a Senior Architect in Microsoft's Enterprise Services Group. He joined Microsoft in 1997 and has worked primarily in their Financial Services practice focusing on the major retail banks in Canada. He now works as a Senior Architect in a variety of verticals. Before joining Microsoft he spent nearly a decade working as a Knowledge Engineer, Consultant, and ultimately Technology Architect in the Systems & Technology division of the Royal Bank of Canada. During his final six years with the Bank he also founded and ran a private IT consulting firm specializing in Auction Management Systems. Stephen obtained a BSc in Physics and Math from the University of Toronto in 1989.
Andrew Oppenheim, Business Law Partner, Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP
Andrew has extensive experience in debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, sales and financing and technology licensing.
He is a director of a number of public and private corporations.
Stuart M. Olley, partner, Stikeman Elliott LLP
Mr. Olley is a partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP, a national Canadian law firm. Mr. Olley is also Corporate Secretary of Boardwalk Equities Inc., a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Olley obtained a BA from the University of Toronto in November 1987 and an MBA and LLB from the University of Alberta in May 1991 and May 1992, respectively.
